    Upper Canada Skating Club


    Whether you are just learning to skate or already know how, Upper Canada will foster that enthusiasm and help you realize your goals. We are a proud member of Skate Canada and have been running skating programs in North York for over 60 years. Upper Canada is located in the Mitchell Field Arena, 89 Church Ave., North York.

    Test day for Junior and above skaters (NOT CanSkaters) is Thursday Jan. 26, 2012. Information regarding the schedule has been posted on the Tests & Competitions tab. Please note that ALL of the regularly scheduled sessions (Preschool, Fast Traxx, Intermediate and Senior/Adult) will be cancelled on that Thursday (Jan. 26). 

    Information regarding the STARSkate Club Competition and the CanSkate Challenge held in February 2012 is available on the Tests & Competitions tab.

    The 2011-2012 fall/winter season runs from Monday Sept. 12, 2011, to Saturday Mar. 10, 2012. Information for the Spring session which runs for 8 weeks will NOT be available until mid-February 2012.

    PLEASE NOTE AS OF Dec. 17, 2011, Upper Canada is NO LONGER accepting applications for the CanSkate sessions starting in January 2012. There are no waiting lists for any CanSkate session. Next available spaces will be for the Spring session. 

     The following sessions ARE FULL:

    1. ALL Pre-school sessions
    2. FAST TRAXX session
    3. ALL CanSkate sessions

     Please note there are NO waiting lists for ANY of the above sessions.

    See REGISTRATION tab for application, consent form and parental conduct form. The brochure, which has all fees on it, is available on the SCHEDULE and FEES tab. All applications must be include the consent form and the parental conduct form in order to be accepted.

    The 2011-2012 Handbook is now available on the UCSC Handbook tab for viewing or downloading.

    NEW FOR THE 2011-2012 SEASON:  

    UCSC Warm-up jackets are now available! Click on the following for sample pictures: BACK, FRONT, CLOSE UP FRONT. Order forms, embroidered sample and sample sizes are available in the office.

    Each application must include a copy of the Consent Form (1 per skater) and the Parents Code of Conduct (1 per family). Applications received without these documents will not be registered. We will be contacting those applicants that have any of the forms are missing and until Upper Canada receives said forms, the application will not be accepted and your child(ren) will not be registered to skate.

    Please note the Skate Canada membership fee has increased to $33.00 this year. This is a fee charged to Upper Canada when we register our members (skaters) with Skate Canada.

    Office operating hours: Monday - 4 pm to 8pm; Tuesday - 6 pm to 8 pm:, Wednesday and Thursday - 5 pm to 8 pm; and Saturday 9 am to 1 pm.

    Phone and email messages will be returned within 48 hours. If calling during the day, please note that phone calls are returned in the evening during operating hours so please leave a number that we can reach you at in the evening.

    If applying for classes with group lessons (CanSkate, Pre-School, Pre-Junior and Junior lesson) applications must be received 2 days prior to the first skating day; no walk-ins will be accepted to skate the same day.
